Gebert Holdings (PTY) LTD
Sales, Service, Manufacturing and Calibration of Speed Measuring and other Electronic Devices
About
The company owes its origins to late Franz Josef Gebert who immigrated to South Africa following the conclusion of the second world war. After first working for Iscor he developed and patented numerous speed measuring devices under the brand name Truvelo. He was the founder of the Truvelo group of companies in the 1970’s. The group included a law enforcement division as well as an armoury division, the armoury side being a keen interest of the late Mr. Gebert.
The CEO of Gebert Holdings (Pty) Ltd is Ralf Gebert, the son of Franz Josef Gebert. The company today strives to maintain the values and quality pursued by original companies launched by Franz Josef Gebert, whilst supplying a diversified set of services to its clients.
The company has stayed true to the engineering origins of the company and currently supplies state of the art world class timing equipment for drag racing events, repair and calibration services for traffic law enforcement equipment and electronic design consultancy.
The company also offers products that assist governments and local authorities with early warning message systems as well as financial consulting services for the SMME.

TIMING SERVICES FOR DRAG RACING
Our company roots were established in the 1970’s, specialising in the supply and design of speed measuring equipment for the traffic authorities. We achieved accreditation in the calibration of the equipment in January 2001 and were the first laboratory to do this in our field of expertise.
After numerous requests from “legal“ street racing organisers we decided to adapt some of our equipment to meet the requirement. Initial smaller systems based on a normal 3 light robot system were built and are still in use by a local drag racing venue. Following the success of this product a decision was made to design and build a system conforming to international standards, but which is fully portable as this is a unique feature required by the local market as not all venues utilised (eg. airfields) are permanently in use. Currently three of these systems are available on a rental basis.
An addition to the range of products supplied is a basic drag racing system that will indicate which lane crossed the line first through a single flashing light which will flash at different frequencies depending on the winning lane. This system is quick to set up and easy to use. It is specifically designed for the event organizer that does require the actual time of the run, but only the winner thereof.
REPAIR AND CALIBRATION SERVICES
Utilising our extensive knowledge of traffic law enforcement systems and other electronic control systems, we are able to offer repair and calibration services for high end electronic measuring equipment where extreme accuracy is a requirement.
This service also applies to all speed enforcement equipment and is offered to all government agencies throughout the Sub Continent and as far afield as Mauritius and the Seychelles.
ELECTRONIC DESIGN CONSULTANCY
With our years of experience in developing high speed measuring equipment and other systems we can utilise our experience of machine code programming and the use of higher level languages to assist with the design function of most organisations where this level of knowledge is required.
